Research 08: Body Butter (All Over Body Moisturiser)

The fourth and final product on the list from the brief was the top selling Body Butter. The Body Shop sells body butter in two sizes. A 50ml tub which costs £5 and a 200ml tub which cost £12.50. A brilliant feature to these butters is that they are available in so many different flavours, and whichever you choose, one you unscrew the lid you will be greeted with fabulous scent! Different butters have different consistencies and you can read a guide as to which is best for your skin type on the website (or click to enlarge the image below).

After reading reviews from the foundation products i felt that this gave me a good opinionated insight to what consumers thought of the product as they would have took their time to tell this. I decided to read more reviews for the body butter to see if there was anything to keep or improve when i do my designing.

"The tubs the butters are kept in a thick coloured plastic. They are round and shallow and have a screw on and off lid. It is hard to get the body butter out without getting it stuck under your nails as you have to scoop it out, and for me that is a downside to these butters. Luckily once the seal is broken and the lid is unscrewed, it is easy to screw back up a
nd get a tight seal without it leaking into the rest of your stuff."
This review here tells me that there is a problem when getting the butter onto your hands as it gets underneath your nails, this gives me something to design around, perhaps to design better so that this won't happen. However the customer does appear to like the easy screw lid, with lack of leakage - something to keep?

Always being a fan of The Body Shop, I've been using their body butter for a while and I must say it is great. You have choice of a small tub or a very large tub (I always buy the bigger one). I love the packaging of this product. A circular tub with the colour of the fruit that the product is
based on with a picture of it in the middle. The Body Shop logo is obviously present in the middle and details are going around the outside of the picture in a circle.
This reviewer is happy with the current packaging, in particular the colour scheme for each flavour, encouraging me to look more into colour schemes or maybe even keeping the current colour scheme.
